God met me more than halfway, he freed me from my anxious fears.
Other versions say that "As I sought him, he heard me and delivered me from all my fears."
Do you see what I see?
A God that will respond to my search for him. A God that desires to communion with us so much that as soon as he recognize our earnest search for him he meets us right where we are! And He doesn't just come and see about us but He has the power and wills to deliver us! Freeing us from ourselves!
If we look at it in all truthfulness we shall see that the only thing that keeps us held up is ourselves. Our enability to release all patterns of thinking that draws us into fear, doubt and unbelief keeps us bound in Fear. Sure there maybe some natural reasoning to justify our action, however a ransom has been paid for our deliverance!
Fears and anxiety can have a grip on us that is so tight that we become immobile. Paralyzed by the unknown and the "what if's"... Fear causes us to be at a stand still, unable to experience the life God intended us to live.
BUT God, the one that is omipresence,
omniscient and omnipotent is aware of our concerns ( Matthew 6:27-32). He has always been ready to receive us as his own. His desire is evident in the plan laid out before us to be redeemed, reconciled, restored and revived anew (Ephesians 1:4-5;Galatians 4:4-7).
What fears or anxieties have you in its grasp, attempting to choke the life out of you?
What fear "do you keep company with" or have befriended that has now taken you hostage?
Psalm 34:4 said that he would meet us more than halfway and free us. How so?
By renewing our minds! You see in saving us, God according to his mercy, washed us with the Holy Spirit thoroughly from the inside out to restore us. In the renewing process we receive a new look. A look that is in the image of our Father. Our new image is an original that can only be worn with a renewed mindset. (Titus 3:5, Colossians 3:10, Ephesians 4:23)
And our new mindset reminds us that this scripture is true:
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. - 2Ti 1:7 NKJV
